Manchester United spent this summer a lot of money on big signings and therefore the expectations are very high. Despite all the assumptions the club lost his second consecutive game and Mourinho admitted that he and his squad are disappointed but they're looking forward to keep improving.
However, the club won the Community Shield against Leicester and their three first matches in the Premier League, so it's not as bad as it seems.
Mourinho said that his players are obviously sad about loosing two games, since it's normal to be sad, but they're not depressive. He wants to try to bring them back into a positive mood.
"Of course I'm here not to let them be in a negative mood, or a negative period because we lost two matches.
"I think we had two matches where we didn’t play well for 90 minutes, but two matches where we deserved a better result than what we did".
Furthermore he insisted he was never showing of or saying they're the best.
"When we won the Community Shield and three Premier League matches I was not on the moon saying we are a phenomenal team that will destroy every opponent.
"I said, 'Yes good start, very good start' but I never was on the moon. I know the situation is not click your fingers and everybody is perfect".
The Portuguese knows that his team deserves more and wants to keep fighting.
